Resilience – promoting health in the company

The term ‘resilience’ goes back to the Latin ‘resilere’ and can be translated as ‘to bounce back’.

Resilience research looks for reasons why people remain healthy – despite adverse and harmful circumstances – and sometimes even emerge stronger from crises.

Despite all adversity, resilient people show a healthy degree of composure, confidence, courage, initiative, self-confidence (feelings of self-efficacy), consistency, discipline and a willingness to accept challenges.

With the ability to self-reflect, resilient people are able to recognize their own behaviour patterns and those of other people and derive alternatives from them if necessary. They are also able to assess the potential impact of their behavior. This enables them to be mindful of their own well-being and the well-being of others.

Managers are called upon to improve productivity, motivation and creativity, and even the working atmosphere in the face of constantly rising demands and increasing work density. This seminar shows how managers can be supported in this task and how they and their employees can be made more resilient to factors that are detrimental to health in working life.
